May/Jun 08 Simple Scrapbooks

These fonts, appearing in the May/June 2008 issue of Simple Scrapbooks magazine, are available at ScrapNfonts:

  • CK Maternal, featured in "Every Day Every Way" [p. 28]
  • CK True Type, featured in "Happy Everything" [p. 88]
  • Picnic food flags

Ooh, I can't wait for warm weather and outdoor gatherings and festive picnics. Flipping through the pages of the newest Pottery Barn catalog over lunch yesterday, this photo caught my attention (p. 62 of the "april 2008" issue). What a fun and simple papercrafting project! Just apply a typewriter font (or any other favorite), print to paper, punch holes, and add a kabob skewer to dress up any party food.

Two days only! Save some green: promo code CLOVER

I've got a secret to share: Even though St. Patrick's Day is over, you can still save some green when you shop TODAY & TOMORROW only! Save 20% off any purchase of $15 or more when you enter code CLOVER at checkout. Offer ends March 20. Pass it on!

Tip: Combine this offer with the sale prices on Nicole LaRue printables for amazing deals you can't pass up!

    Ready for Easter?

The annual Easter Egg Hunt at my in-laws' is a BIG deal. Not just for the kiddies, but for the adults too! Yep, we enjoy two separate hunts with cash prizes for the winners.

Two years ago I victoriously found the coveted "golden egg," valued at $25 compared to the change you might collect from the rest of the eggs hidden among the brush. Unfortunately, I lost my champion title last year, so I'm pumped to redeem myself this year.

I'm not the only one who loves to hunt. We've been "training" 14-month-old Alexa how to pull in her share of booty from the kids' hunt. She's been practicing. LOVES the "egg game." Runs to collect eggs and practically hyperventilates from excitement as she races to fill her basket!

So you can understand why I love Design Team member Keela Fox's "Hunting Easter Eggs" layout. Good times.

    Babies in bloom

Seems like countless families around me--relatives, friends and neighbhors--are having babies! I've visited three perfectly precious newborns in the last little bit, with several more on the way.

So it's time to restock my stash of handmade cards designed to welcome new arrivals in style. I happened upon the Peekaboo Baby Card Kit on ScrapNfonts. Too cute! Just print then cut and paste. Easy as pie! Great for making cards in advance or pulling together a note last-minute (trust me--I've had my share of those)!

    Another darling option?
Lullaby Handmade Gifts Printable, designed by Nicole LaRue. Love the hip, mod look straight from a fine stationery boutique!

    Lucky you: NEW free fonts

Update! We've just unleashed a new selection of free fonts on ScrapNfonts.com. Some really fab ones. Download any or all of the selection of 20 now available. And hey, I want to see how you use them so be sure to post your projects to our Idea Gallery and share the love!

Go ahead and tell your friends. This offer may end without notice, so don't delay.

Luck? the Universe? or something else?

I'm a little behind the rage--I just barely started reading The Secret. It's interesting. I can certainly appreciate a book that coaches you to improve your attitude and outlook on life. Now is the good stuff in life a result of the Law of Attraction from the Universe or blessings from a higher power or maybe both? Well, I have my beliefs but decide for yourself.

I'm not particularly superstitious, but a little bit of luck on my side doesn't hurt either. Gotta wear green on St. Patrick's Day, even if it's just to avoid the pinching!

Why not consider your own luck--and blessings--with a fun project, like this card & envelope from design team member, Regina Easter:
